Louie’s California Bistro
Located in the historic Upham Hotel, Louie’s California Bistro is an inviting place for its classic vibes, historic feels and Californian delicacies. Hotel Upham, was built in the mid 1871 by Amasa Lyman Lincoln, remodeled in 1984 and is already celebrating 100 years as the oldest cosmopolitan hotel in continuous operation in southern California. The restaurant is named after the owner’s dog “Louie”.
Louie’s offered some interesting vegetarian friendly courses for the Santa Barbara restaurant week this year. The starter and the desert courses were lip-smacking! The restaurant also served complimentary freshly baked bread with butter on the side.
With intimate and exclusive seating, making a reservation is highly recommended before your visit here. The ambience is classy and calm and perfect for a romantic date. With local seasonal ingredients, the chef presents to us many variations of the Californian cuisine.
Well, also can’t complain about the ‘Tiramisu’ and the ‘Gelato’ that absolutely sealed the deal. The aromas of coffee with a combo of scooped gelato had us enjoying every bite!
