Old Spanish Days Fiesta

Santa Barbara celebrates the Old Spanish Days Fiesta which dates back to 1924. Back in the time, the city wanted to have a fun summer festival for welcoming its visitors. The festival was organized by the businesspeople of Santa Barbara and was declared by the then Mayor Charles M. Andrea. The fiesta featured a parade, a rodeo, a historical pageant and a street fair. The festival has ever since been celebrated with all the colors, performances and local Mercados (market in Spanish). Today, marks the 99th annual ‘Old Spanish Days’ fiesta in the city of Santa Barbara. This festival is a testimony to the rich cultural history and diversity with influences from Spanish, Mexican and Native American cultures. See below a glimpse of the beautiful performances at the fiesta this year.

What a celebration! The entire city of Santa Barbara came together for this spectacular five-day festival which began on August 2. So many events, so many artists, so many dances, so many songs and so much happiness in the air, the city is truly blessed!
